Like many of our colleagues during COVID-19, we have temporarily suspended activity. But there is good news! Twice Upon a Time has teamed up with four community health centres, two literacy organizations, and a community association, all able to provide new and gently used books directly to more than 200 families.
We are truly honoured to partner with these organizations as part of Kids Today! Special COVID-19 Project. They are dedicated to supporting their communities through this crisis and beyond. We thank them!
So we are asking you to get even more charitable this Spring. Help us give the gift of reading to the children in these families. Every dollar you donate through our donation page in the month of June, provides us with a tantalizing chance to win $20,000 as part of the Great Canadian Giving Challenge.
Our new book purchasing program for 2020 – Kids Today! Special COVID-19 Project – will enable us to purchase newly published children’s books that are the most requested by young readers. These books are often more expensive in bookstores or so popular that there is a long waiting list to borrow them from a library – even when they are able to re-open.
Help us make books available to some of Ottawa’s most vulnerable children immediately. Books our young readers will love, especially in this time of social isolation and school closures.
