Donate funds

Your financial donation helps us put more books into the hands of Ottawa kids.

Twice Upon a Time is a registered non-profit organization with charitable status from the Canada Revenue Agency. Our registration number is 803095777 RR0001

Twice Upon a Time is entirely run by volunteers.

Funds donated to Twice Upon a Time help us purchase books where there are gaps in the donations we receive and to cover program and operating costs.

By making a financial donation to us, you can help put more books into the hands and homes of kids in Ottawa.

How your donation makes a difference

  • $25 allows us to buy two new picture books
  • $50 allows us to buy three new Indigenous titles
  • $75 allows us to buy four new French books
  • $100 allows us to buy five new chapter books or graphic novels for our pre-teen readers
  • $375 covers one month of storage costs for Twice Upon a Time

Ways to give

*A charitable tax receipt will be issued for donations of $15 or more.

Online donations are securely processed through CanadaHelps. An official charitable tax receipt will be issued immediately by email.

Please send e-transfers to info@twiceuponatime.ca.

Include name, address, instructions for any dedication of funds, plus any necessary transfer information.

If making a donation on behalf of a group, the name, mailing address, email address, and amount contributed (of $15 or more) of each contributor must be provided in order for a charitable receipt to be issued.

A donation of securities or mutual funds is the most efficient way to give charitably. Since capital gains taxes do not apply, Twice Upon a Time receives the full fair market value when the security is sold.

With the help of our partners at Canada Helps, you can donate securities or mutual funds in three easy steps:

  1. Complete the online form, indicating what you would like to donate. Once you submit the form, you will receive an email confirming your pledge. Download the Letter of Direction form.
  2. Send the completed Letter of Direction to your broker authorizing the transfer of your shares to CanadaHelps. The transfer will settle within the CanadaHelps account within 1 to 2 working days.
  3. CanadaHelps will sell the shares. Once the proceeds have been received, CanadaHelps will provide you with a charitable tax receipt and transfer the proceeds from the sale to Twice Upon A Time.

Fill out the monetary donation form. Send a cheque or money order with the form.

If making a donation on behalf of a group, the name, mailing address, and amount contributed (of $15 or more) of each contributor must be provided in order for a charitable receipt to be issued.
