We give free books to children from birth to 12 years old!

Free Bookstore Locations

Children and families can visit our free bookstores as often as they like.  Each person (adults and children) can take home one book per visit. We have a large variety of books in English and French. Best of all – these books are yours to keep!

Overbrook Community Centre
Visit our free bookstore at the Overbrook Community Centre (33 Quill Street) every Saturday from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, and every Wednesday from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

Heartwood House
You can find a self-serve bookshelf in the lobby of Heartwood House (404 McArthur Avenue) during Heartwood House business hours.

Program Partners

We provide free books to children and families enrolled with the following programs:

Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa – Don McGahan Club House
Children registered in the after-school program can visit us on Tuesdays from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm.

Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa – Rochester Heights
Children registered in the after-school program can visit us on Mondays from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa – Tomlinson Family Foundation Club House
Children registered in the after-school program can visit us on Wednesdays from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Taggart Family Y
Children and their families who are in residence at the Taggart Family Y can visit with our volunteers on Wednesdays from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Rochester Heights Community House
Children and their families who live in the Rochester Heights community can visit with our volunteers on Fridays from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
